Ken Pott was born and raised in the small farming community of Honey Bend Illinois. He worked as a crane operator aboard the USS Arizona.
He completed his training in Great Lakes, Illinois.
Ken reported to the USS Arizona in 1939 and was aboard the Arizona during the attack.
Ken and his fellow crane operators abandoned the USS Arizona for a small transport craft after the big bomb hit. The men scooped up sailors that were in the burning waters of Pearl Harbor and headed to Ford Island. Ken saved many lives and found the bodies of many others.
After the attack Ken transferred to the Pearl Harbor Naval shipyard helping repair ships that were damaged in the attack.
Ken is 99 years old and lives with his wife Doris in Provo, Utah.
